Supply Chain Management Association Ontario (SCMAO) partners with Cardinal Health Canada to develop healthcare educational series

August 16, 2022, Toronto, Canada: Supply Chain Management Association Ontario (SCMAO), Canada’s largest community and knowledge hub for supply chain professionals, has partnered with Cardinal Health Canada as their exclusive partner to develop foundational education initiatives for healthcare sector supply chain professionals.

As Canada’s leading provider of healthcare products, services and solutions to hospitals, long-term care facilities, distributors, and retailers, Cardinal Health is uniquely positioned to be the exclusive partner of SCMAO on their healthcare sector supply chain initiatives.

These initiatives include: Leadership Series 3.0: Healthcare Supply Chain & Procurement on September 15, 2022; Healthcare Sector Live Chat Series, to be launched later this year; as well the new Healthcare Supply Chain Certification Program.

The healthcare supply chain industry has had a myriad of disruptions in the past two years— manufacturer consolidation, climate events, economic & political upheaval and more. Achieving efficiency in healthcare solutions for patients and customers has never seemed so daunting. That’s when SCMAO leveraged its knowledge-sharing platforms to bring healthcare supply chain professionals & experts together, so that the opportunities and learnings could be shared. The collaboration with Cardinal Health Canada helps us take our knowledge-sharing and continued learning to the next level—elevating our healthcare supply chain professionals and to help them navigate uncertain circumstances with preparedness and continued resilience,” says Al-Azhar Khalfan, President & CEO, SCMAO.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shed light on the critical importance of supply chain as an essential element of patient care. Healthcare supply chain can and must work together with the healthcare system to ensure patient care is not dependent upon the availability of supplies,” says Russell Schuster, President, Cardinal Health Canada.

Mr. Schuster believes this new collaboration will allow Cardinal Health Canada to utilize their global healthcare knowledge, coupled with SCMAO’s vast membership across Canada, to continue to elevate the role of supply chain in healthcare while building a stronger knowledge base that drives ongoing improvement in the healthcare ecosystem.

SCMAO operates under three pillars—currency of content, speed to market, and accessibility to members and the larger supply chain community. This collaboration with Cardinal Health Canada will deliver on our brand promise, while bringing together the broader supply chain community to strengthen the voice of supply chain professionals in healthcare.
