The Cardinal Health™ Kendall SCD SmartFlow™ Compression System, the next generation of the Kendall™ Compression Series, features clinically proven technology designed to apply intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) to increase venous blood flow in at-risk patients. This helps prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), treat pain and swelling related to venous stasis and enhance circulation.

GHG emissions
By transitioning from the Kendall SCD™ 700 to the Kendall SCD SmartFlow™ Controller, customers can reduce electricity consumption and, consequently, Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions from controller use by 61% over the controller’s anticipated useful life.
Responsible packaging
Kendall SCD SmartFlow™ Corrugate Packaging is made up of a minimum of 75% recycled content and is recyclable. Kendall SCD SmartFlow™ Inner Packaging uses 102 grams less plastic than the previous product by eliminating the airbag and one polybag for the tubing. The plastic has been replaced with corrugate, which is made of a minimum of 75% recycled content and is recyclable.
End-of-life management
Cardinal Health is focusing on end-of-life management as we innovate. We will be collecting the previous product from customers and responsibly recycling the materials. 93% of the shipment will be recycled: the controller and packaging corrugate will be fully recycled, and the tubing will go to landfill. This program is estimated to divert 247,000 pounds of waste from the landfill each year.
